Renewable marine energies has become a crucial asset for the research, development and implementation of decarbonization strategies easing the global energetic transition process. The great potential of the offshore wind energy is their efficiency and removal of space limitations and less impact. Thus, the Iberian hub became potential worldwide global leaders for floating offshore wind energy. In this sense, innovation and research challenges of offshore wind energy must be faced to operate more efficiently and make more profitable the industrial facilities in a hostile environment such as the sea.
The FLOATt&M project is an “Integral solution for the maintenance and operations of the floating offshore wind by means of new technologies”. The main goal is that the Basque industry can share bigger potential not only as services, but adding value through the research and development of an integral solution for O&M floating offshore, by its own innovations. The project is lead by Saitec, and it is being developed by 15 companies (among others, Sener, Alerion, Aeroblade, MMugape, Vicinay, Nautilus, ditrel, Sidenor, Inalia, Navacel, Tecnalia, CEIT, Tekniker, Ikerlan, Mondragón Unibertsitatea, UPV-EHU) and try to join efforts to deal with the challenges of floating platforms.
