LIFE-ACCLIMATE

🌍 A leap Towards Climate-Resilient
Greenhouse Agriculture 🌿

We are excited to announce the official launch of the LIFE-ACCLIMATE project, “Cultivating Resilience: Climate Change Adaptation Strategies for Greenhouses to Enhance Yield and Resource Efficiency”, a groundbreaking initiative led by Universidad de Almeria and Innovalia Association, in collaboration with other 9 organisations:

· Fundación Grupo Cajamar

· Fundación Centro Tecnológico de Componentes

· Domca

· Alerion Technologies

· AGrowingData Solutions

· Garaia Sociedad Cooperativa.

· Acorde Technologies

· CEIGRAM – Universidad Politécnica de Madrid

· Agrobio

Over the next 47 months, having a total budget of €4.68 million, the consortium will demonstrate how the integration of aerial and ground robotics, data analytics, and artificial intelligence can revolutionize greenhouse agriculture, enabling climate change adaptation, by enhancing productivity, reducing the use of resources, and fostering sustainability.

The project LIFE23-CCA-ES-LIFE-ACCLIMATE is co-financed by the European Union through the LIFE Programme Under Grant Agreement No 101157315

Project Scope and Activities

The LIFE-ACCLIMATE project will focus on both demonstration and replication activities across two key regions in Spain: Almería and the province of Bizkaia. The demonstration activities foreseen will take place in tomato greenhouses, while replication efforts will focus on lettuce, cucumber, and pepper greenhouse crops.

The primary goal is to show how the synergy of 3 innovative technologies can support greenhouse producers in optimizing decision-making processes in three critical areas of production:

· Climate Control

· Fertigation

· Integrated Pest and Disease Management(IPM and IDM)

Key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project include increased productivity, reduced usage of water, energy, and fertilizers, and the elimination of chemical pesticides. These factors are vital in helping the greenhouse sector adaptation to the challenges posed by climate change
